Spend two days learning how to make a round-based willow basket with an asymmetrical border, using Somerset and Worcestershire willow. You will be guided by two tutors, Sarah and Marcus from Hopewood Baskets. 
We will begin by getting to know the material, with time to discuss how it is prepared for weaving, before grading the willow into different thicknesses. We will guide you through the basic weaving techniques,  with scope to explore more for those with some willow weaving experience. We will finish by selecting and whittling a piece of wood for the handle and learn how to attach it to the basket.
*Please note we will be working close to the ground on low seats, and that willow weaving can be very hard on the hands.
