Learn the amazing versatility of bark and learn to peel, process, fold and sew your own pouch.
Bark is a fantastic material that is can be harvested from the tree in the spring and summer time and
can be processed and made into beautiful, functional objects.
On this 1 day course we will look at a selection of different barks from my collection and create a
beautiful pouch from either locally harvested ash or willow bark that you could use for foraging,
drinks bottle holder or for storage.
We will look at a selection of different barks and their uses, such as lime, sweet chestnut, elm and
willow, how to process the bark into usable material and how to store bark for later use.
We will also learn which barks, basts and plant fibres are best for making cordage and will learn how
to process and extract fibres from trees, nettles, horseradish and bramble and create our own
cordage for sewing our bark pouch.
